Spear Thistle

Page history last edited by julie 2 yrs ago

Seen by many as the emblem of Scotland - associated with the motto 'Nemo me impune lacessit' which means 'no-one attacks me with impunity and gets away with it'. Dates to the 11th Century when invading Danes landed on a beach full of thistles, their yells woke up the local people who sprang to their own defence.
