Comunn Eachdraidh Nis

Comunn Eachdraidh Nis ( Ness Historical Society ) is situated in the village of Habost. 

Founded in 1977, it contains a welter of information relating to the history and culture of North Lewis.

 

It was formed by local people from Ness in an attempt to gather, preserve and make available for the public, information and documentation of the life of this area.  This year marks CENs 30th Anniversary.

 

 

Part of the Society's large collection includes the old equipment from the Decca Station in Lionel

 

 

 

 

 Comunn Eachdriadh Nis also produce a bi-monthly publication called Criomagan.
