Page history last edited by PBworks 16 years, 9 months ago

The name Fivepenny comes from the rent paid on the crofts - five pennies.  Fivepenny is next to Eoropie.

Ness Football Club play on Fivepenny Machair and have been extremely successful over the years.

The 2 shops that were once in Fivepenny were:

Buth Sheonaidh Iain Bhig - John Morrison - better known as Buth Mairi Catriona.  Latterly supplied by Donald Macleod, Eoropie.

Buth a' Bhreic - Donald Macleod (Drogaidh) Grocer. This shop closed in 1919. (Criomagan March/April 1996)
